Montreal, January 18th - The best team in Canada will present three riders for the 2008 championship season: Chris Peris, Francis Martin and Matt McBride. After a first season with Suzuki in 2007 and unsatisfying results due to Pascal Picotte's injuries and Francis Martin's bad luck, the team says it will put things right for 2008. The team leader Pascal Picotte has a good feeling about the upcoming season: "I decided to take a year off the handlebars to work to be in great shape. We have made important changes with the riders and the young Chris Peris, who will perform in the two categories of the championship, the superbike and the Sport Bike 600. Francis Martin is back and will put his efforts on the Superbike, where he has won two Canadian championship. A new rider is also coming on board, young Matthew McBride, who will also ride in both classes all year." Add this to a team lead by the experienced and unrivaled motorist Paul Fournier and about ten technicians on the track and in the shop, and it becomes clear that the Team this year has some power never seen before in Canada. Pascal Picotte continues: "2008 will be our year, especially with new blood and young talents combined with the speed and experience of Francis Martin, who knows how to maximize his collection of points in each race. There is no doubt we'll be the one team to beat this year."
With Quebec Championship titles in Supermotard Open and 250, a lot is expected from Maxime Sylvestre for the 2008 season. Maxime will ride KTM bikes in both classes, on machines prepared and developed by Picotte Performance, the well-known developer from Granby. With seven championships in various biking disciplines on dirt, ice and bitumen, Sylvestre is coming into the 2008 season with powerful, state-of-the-art machines and says he's primed for the upcoming season: "With perfectly tuned machines and a high-level technical support, I'm aiming to win the most victories as possible when the circumstances are on my side." Then he adds: "If the conditions show up to be more difficult, I'll make it with less than a victory, but I'll still be aiming at winning the two championships, both in Open and 250cc." After constantly getting closer to the top in the last 5 years, its team says it's ready for the much anticipated success of the upcoming season.
